The great news is, recreational use of cannabis in Oregon is legal for those who are 21 years old or older. It’s considered illegal for anyone who is under 21. You’ll need a government-issued photo ID to prove your age.

All recreational cannabis sales in Oregon are subject to a 17% Oregon state tax as well as a 3% local tax.

You can only use cannabis at home or on private property. Public use is illegal.
TRAVEL TIP: Most hotels do not allow the use of cannabis. Visit Bud and Breakfast to double check if your hotel allows cannabis use.

Be responsible just as you would be with alcohol. Driving or biking while under the influence is illegal and dangerous.

Cannabis products cannot be taken out of the state or brought into the state. Even though cannabis is also legal in some surrounding states, it’s illegal to cross state lines with cannabis purchased in Oregon.
